LEADja 2025:A Year of Impact, Growth, and Hope

As we move through 2025, LEADja continues to create meaningful change for children and families across Jamaica. Thanks to your generosity, we have expanded access to education, strengthened school communities, and responded swiftly in times of crisis.

Opening Doors Through Education

In July, LEADja awarded 12 book scholarships to students at Goshen Primary School and five tuition scholarships to children at Timothy Burke Basic School in Lucky Hill, St. Mary.

In August, we celebrated a historic moment by awarding our first-ever full renewable university scholarship to a graduate of St. Jago High School, who is now pursuing higher education at the University of Technology in Kingston.

Strengthening Learning Environments

LEADja completed the construction of a new cafeteria at Mount Faith Basic School in Arnett Gardens, providing students with a safe and welcoming space to enjoy daily meals.

Expanding Digital Access

In December, LEADja donated 18 computers to Melrose Primary and Infant School, helping students and teachers access essential digital learning tools.

Building Community

Our First Annual LEADja Gala, held on June 7, brought together supporters and partners to celebrate the impact we’re making together.

Standing With Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa

On October 28, Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, devastated communities across western Jamaica. LEADja responded immediately, delivering hundreds of care packages to families and shelters. We are now entering the next critical phase—repairing and rebuilding hurricane-damaged schools and providing essential supplies and equipment so students can return to safe learning environments.

None of this is possible without you. Thank you for standing with LEADja and the children of Jamaica.

2024-2025 School Year

So far, we have awarded four full Tuition Scholarships to students at the Timothy Burke Basic School and 13 Book Scholarships to children at the Goshen Primary School. We also hosted a back-to-school registration drive for the Mount Faith Basic School in Arnett Garden, Trench Town.

2023-2024 School Year

We provided eight book and school supply scholarships to students entering the Goshen and Newstead Primary Schools and six full-tuition scholarships for students at the Timothy Burke Basic School.

2022-2023 School Year

LEADja awarded nine full-tuition scholarships to students from financially needy families at the Timothy Burke Basic School.
