Tertiary Education Tuition Scholarship

Deadline

Applications for the 2026-27 school year are due July 30. Applications received after the deadline are not guaranteed to be reviewed until the following semester.

Scholarship Award

LEADja will provide two scholarships valued at $300,000 JMD each per academic year: one awarded to a high school graduate entering college and one to a continuing college student. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipient’s institution.

Student Eligibility

  1. Academic Merit Requirements

    • Age 25 or younger at the time of application.
    • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent B) – for both high school graduates and continuing college students.
    • Stay in good academic standing while enrolled at the University/College.
    • Show consistent progress toward completing your approved degree program.
  2. Enrollment and Program Status

    • Applicants are required to be enrolled as a full-time student, as defined by the University, for the academic year. (Financial details will be worked out individually)
    • Continue in pursuit of a degree program or faculty.
    • Successfully complete the minimum credit load required for full-time status during the scholarship period.
  3. Satisfactory Progress Toward Degree

    • Pass the majority of registered courses and meet the University’s standards for satisfactory academic progress.
    • Avoid academic probation or suspension during the scholarship year.
  4. Financial Need (Need-Based Component)

    • Demonstrate financial need in the required essay.
    • Submit any financial documentation, ie, PATH, that will help us determine your financial need by the specified deadline.
    • Notify LEADja of any significant change in financial circumstances that may affect eligibility.
  5. Conduct and Institutional Compliance

    • Maintain good disciplinary standing and comply with all University/College rules, regulations, and policies.
    • Adhere strictly to the University’s/College’s Code of Conduct and Academic Integrity policies.

  • Verification of academic performance
  • Confirmation of continued financial need
  • The Lunan Educational Advancement & Developmental Foundation reserves the right to review, suspend, or revoke the scholarship if these criteria are not met.

Applicant Instructions

Submit the completed application form with uploaded copies of the following:

  • Form of identification example: school ID, or driver’s licence, or passport
  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • For continuing college students: a progress report or transcript from the previous academic year.
  • For graduating high school students: copies of your CXC/CSEC and/or CAPE results and college/university acceptance letter.

Applicants must give details of their current on or off-campus co-curricular activities. This is required for the scholarship.

Co-Curricular Activity Requirements

You must submit the following:

For on-campus activities:

  • Upload a letter from the Club or Society President (or a designated officer) confirming your membership and/or position held
  • A letter from the Students’ Union Vice President for Clubs and Societies may also be requested

For off-campus activities:

  • A letter of support from but not limited to, the Pastor, the President, Chairperson, or Secretary of the organization

The letter must clearly state:

  • The type of organization
  • How long you have been involved and your role or activities
